Integration Engineering Support

Robot-side engineering, embedded in your project

Senior robot-side engineering inside your integration project — without adding headcount. A bespoke engagement for integrators and manufacturers mid-project. VX Machina is a specialist engineering contractor for the robot-side scope, not the overall integrator. It usually starts with a Robot Cell Review or a scoping workshop.

01 / WHO

Who it’s for

  • Integrators who need robot-engineering capacity for a defined period
  • Manufacturers implementing or modifying a robot cell with a principal integrator in place
  • Project teams protecting critical robot-side milestones
02 / INCLUDED

What’s included

Each contract names the modules included.

  • 01 · Engineering review and documentation — layouts, specifications, sequences, robot interfaces
  • 02 · Simulation and offline programming — ABB RobotStudio, KUKA.Sim, Robotmaster
  • 03 · Robot programming and robot–line I/O — KUKA KRL, ABB RAPID (robot side only; no PLC / HMI)
  • 04 · Safety-concept support — risk-assessment input, guarding, scanners, interlocks, safety zones; support to the party responsible for conformity, never sign-off
  • 05 · Site commissioning support — defined site days for robot-side touch-up, cycle-time analysis and operator handover, under your site safety arrangements
  • 06 · Technical handover — as-built programs, change log, operator notes
03 / DELIVERABLES

What you receive

  • The robot-side outputs of each contracted module: documentation, station files and offline programs, robot programs and robot–line I/O, safety-concept input
  • Site-day records for robot-side touch-up and cycle-time analysis, when module 05 is contracted
  • Technical handover: as-built programs, change log, operator notes
04 / PROCESS

How it runs

  1. Start with a Robot Cell Review or a scoping workshop
  2. Responsibility matrix: you or your integrator remain contractor of record — overall design, PLC / HMI, procurement, machinery conformity and the CE / UKCA declaration
  3. Proposal only once drawings, interfaces, schedule, site constraints and capacity are clear
  4. Agreed before signature: signed SoW, milestones, acceptance criteria and review deadlines; change control and additional-work rates; RC Pro (professional liability) insurance covering on-site work; site safety induction / prevention plan; travel; software, IP and licence terms; dates blocked
05 / TIMELINE

How long it takes

  • Entry: a Robot Cell Review (typically 5–10 working days) or a scoping workshop
  • Proposal: once drawings, interfaces, schedule and site constraints are clear
  • Delivery: per project — milestones, review deadlines and blocked dates are set in the SoW
06 / OUT OF SCOPE

Not included unless added in writing

  • Turnkey line delivery or overall integrator / machine-manufacturer responsibility
  • PLC / HMI, vision, electrical panel design, procurement or fabrication
  • Safety sign-off or CE / UKCA marking responsibility
  • Guaranteed production throughput
  • Fault-finding or repair of drives, power supplies or controller hardware
  • Open-ended on-site presence or post-handover support

Anything outside the modules above needs explicit contractual scope, qualified resources and appropriate insurance.
